Air Mobility Research Institute

is a nonprofit framework for academic and technical exploration of science and engineering for new modes of air transport. It was created informally in 2017 after discussions among NASA and industry leaders faced with challenges of collaboration and logistics, and became a California nonprofit corporation in 2020.

Initial work is focusing on methods for accurately characterizing acoustic noise from novel aircraft powerplants, and its impact on the communities where they operate.
